New, Easier Way to a Better Smile Makes a Younger You

Your forehead could be agelessly smooth with Botox, your wrinkles almost nonexistent from a facelift, but if your smile is dull, dingy and misshapen, you might not only look your age – you could look older. Ironically, improving your smile can now be the least invasive cosmetic procedure.

Recent cosmetic dentistry breakthroughs, like new Lumineers by Cerinate, are all gain and no pain – drastically different from traditional veneers, which require grinding and shaving down teeth for application.

Made from patented Cerinate porcelain, Lumineers are contact lens thin, translucent “smile shapers” that are applied to original teeth without any removal of sensitive tooth structure. Consequently, there is no need for shots or anesthesia, which means no pain. In just two short visits, your smile will look more beautiful and, more importantly, years younger – lasting up to 20 years.

So, how else can you maintain a young appearance without going under the knife?

* Smile more. Confidence is sexy and sexy is youthful. Once you have the gorgeous smile you’ve always wanted, put it to good use and you’ll get more attention than you did 10 years ago.

* Minimize your makeup. You might think that heavy foundation will cover your wrinkles, but it does just the opposite. Caking it on causes the makeup to settle into wrinkles and exaggerate them. The same is true for eye shadow. A smart rule of thumb: less is more.

* Save yourself from the sun. Those UV rays are our enemy when it comes to aging. Always use a moisturizer with SPF 15 or above. Look for skin creams containing antioxidants like vitamin C and E for increased protection.

* Sleep. They don’t call it “beauty sleep” for nothing. If you don’t get enough sleep (about seven hours every night), your metabolism and hormone production can be hindered, inviting the early effects of age.

* Improve your posture. Taking calcium will help prevent osteoporosis, but a slumping stoop will age you immediately. Strengthen your core – those abdominal muscles – for a straighter back and taller body. Pilates is a perfect way to improve your posture, giving you a longer, leaner look.

* Evaluate your wardrobe. Dressing younger doesn’t have to mean super low-rise jeans and belly shirts. A casual, yet tailored look will keep you from appearing fussy and out-of-style. A great T-shirt with well-fitting pants and great accessories creates a comfortable, yet hip everyday “uniform.”

Look Younger Without Going Under the Knife

If Botox, collagen injections or plastic surgery aren’t on your top list of to-do’s to help yourself look younger, read on. You don’t need to take extreme measures to reveal a more vibrant you because there are many simple and natural ways to refresh your appearance and help you look younger.

One of the first things I recommend is to put your money where your mouth is, literally. Fix your smile. A recent national survey conducted by Roper Public Affairs found that more than six in 10 Americans (62 percent) believe straightening crooked teeth can make an adult look younger and 77 percent agree that doing so is one of the best investments a person can make in improving one’s appearance.

Don’t just focus on your face to look younger. Think about your body, too. There are many inexpensive and fun things you can do to your body to look younger and feel your best. Some of my top tips include:

* Wear brighter colors. Adding color to your wardrobe makes you look happier and feel more alive. Let everyone else wear depressing black to the reunion.

* Stand up straight. You’ll instantly have a better body.

* Work magic with body slimmers. These undergarments make you look thinner in a matter of moments.

* Mess around at the makeup counter. Have fun at the make up counter. Get makeovers and advice. Take pictures of yourself to see what looks best.

My final advice is to just be honest and accepting about who you are because people can see shame in your game. And most importantly, make sure any investment you make is the best one for you.

Anti-aging info and advice

With more and more people living for longer periods, anti-aging is becoming big business. This article looks into what causes premature aging and gives advice on how to keep looking younger for longer.

The latest research shows that around seventy-five percent of skin aging is caused by an over exposure to the sun. This is a huge figure and one that has to be taken seriously for anyone who is looking at ways in delaying the aging process.

In my opinion this is actually common sense as when anything becomes burnt it tends to shrivel up and become all wrinkly. This is what can happen to peoples skin, it may not happen straight away but after maybe thirty years of this over exposure to the sun, wrinkles are likely to appear.

For people who enjoy spending time sunbathing as it makes them feel good and they like looking tanned, I would advise a strong sun cream. This should be used regularly as per the instructions and if you start to feel your body burning up this is the time when you should be looking for some shade or to cover up.

It is also important to ensure we get enough sleep. Research suggests that people who only average around six hours sleep per night will age in looks far quicker than people who average eight hours.

Again this is very logical as if you have a period of a couple of weeks when you do not get enough sleep, bags can appear under your eyes. If you have a really good nights sleep you tend to wake up not only feeling fresh and awake but also looking fresh and healthy. My advice here for people who have developed these bags under their eyes would be to use a good eye cream or to gently massage their eyes every day.

Smoking can certainly speed up the aging process. To quit smoking is not easy however but it is a must for people on a quest to delay the aging process. There are of course many other reasons to stop smoking, therefore be brave and look at ways to quit smoking today.

I have often heard people refer to somebody with a comment such as, he looks as if he has had a hard life. This is often referred to somebody who looks far older than they actually are. They look like they have not been looked after or that they have not had enough love in their lives.

What I think has happened is that they have had a stressful life. What we therefore need to do is to attempt to live as much of a stress-free life as possible. This of course is not that easy. What we need to do is to think in a more positive and pro-active way. We need to start to like ourselves and be happy with who we are and what we have. Thinking in this way will certainly in my opinion help you in your quest of anti-aging.
